About the book
Tessa McCaide has had it up to here with supernaturals. Luciana may have failed to steal Tessa’s magic, but she’s just getting started on her crusade for magical domination. If her demonic summoning isn’t stopped, it could mean the end of everything.
Tessa’s allies, including her mate Dastien, are ready to fight, but they’re no match for Luciana’s power. A little help (and ancient Inca mojo) from Tessa’s cousin, Claudia, may give the side of good a chance if she can make it home in time, but stopping the war is no longer an option.
When witches and wolves fight, no one wins. Only time will tell who will still be standing after the last spell is cast.
Teresa Elizabeth McCaid—aka Tessa—is a girl who has never quite fit in. At least, she didn’t until she was bitten by Dastien Laurent, her mate. Now, she’s part bruja, part werewolf, part human, and totally cool with it. When she’s not taking down evil witches and vampires, she likes to spend her time with Dastien. They love to go for runs and listen to EDM.Dastien Laurent is originally from France, but when his parents were brutally murdered, he came to Texas to live with his godfather—Michael Dawson. He’s always struggled with his alpha-side, but never as much as when he met Tessa. He didn’t mean to bite her, but he wouldn’t change it for the world. Even when evil witches are beating down the door, he never regrets a second. With her, he’s finally able to see his future.
The Review
Rating:★★★★★
If you haven’t realised it yet, the Alpha girl series is my favourite YA series for 2015. If you haven’t read any of the books, please stop reading this and go get yourself a copy.
As the fifth and some what the last in the series, this one was super epic. And as usual the author delivers on every level that had me wishing the story never ended.
The book kicks off where book 3 ended and it was kind off running along side book 4 as Claudia was still in Peru and Tessa is still coming to terms with what she had experienced at the hands of the evil Luciana.
She has Dastien by her side but still her visions are not working like they used to. She can feel some of the magic but the fear of what she might see keeps her in denial. With some help from Dastien she is able to stop fighting the visions and let it take over but what Tessa see’s is not anything good which only adds to the fear of what Luciana has planned next. Will she be able to stop Luciana before it all gets out of hand? It is then up to Tessa, Dastien, Claudia and her friends to try and find a way to stop Luciana.
So I don’t want to say a lot as I might just give away too many spoilers and we don’t want that do we?
What did I like about the book?
Everything! I have loved every character in the Alpha girl series, well except for Luciana. Tess and Dastien are still my personal favourites, reading about them just makes my heart swell. Usually I have a bit of a clue on where the story is going but this one had some twists to it that I just didn’t anticipate.
If you love Dastien from the previous books, trust me there is a lot more of him here again *swoon* and he doesn’t fail to show his Alpha side to anyone that tries to harm Tessa.
Donovan was also his usual cheeky self, throwing more of his two cents in the mix. Collette was a bad ass in this book, she has always played a silent role but she was on top form for this one.
In my opinion this book was everything I hoped for and even more!
