Synopsis

End of Days is the explosive conclusion to Susan Ee’s bestselling Penryn & the End of Days trilogy. After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. They’re both desperate to find a doctor who can reverse the twisted changes inflicted by the angels on Raffe and Penryn’s sister. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe’s past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all. When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?

The Review

Ok where do I start with this story. I had to do a very through re-read of the last 2 books to make sure I hadn’t completely forgotten the intricacies of the story.

End of day picks off right where world after ends. If you don’t fully remember let me refresh your memory, Uriel unleashed the scorpion angel thingies and just as the angels want to start fighting Paige take a nice bite out of Beliel and Raffe cuts of his stolen wings. Paige then commands the swarm of scorpion angels and the Angels get scared and start to flee. Paige is then lifted by one of the scorpion angels as she commands then to take them away from there. Is that enough of a recap? Now they have Raffe’s wings, the prisoners are free from Alcatraz and Paige has her swarm of scorpion angels, but they know the fight is not over as Uriel is still out there trying to be elected as the new messenger. Raffe needs to get his wings transplanted and stop all of this but who can they trust to get it done. Soon enough its up to Penryn and Raffe to find a way to stop Uriel before everything turns into an all out war. Will Raffe fight with his kind or stand to help Penryn and the rest of human kind. The bigger question to ask is if humankind is worth saving.

I’m doing my best to give a non-spoiler review, its soo hard as I just want to spill my guts on everything. You start to see how close Raffe and Penryn are getting; I guess it happens when you have been travelling together for soo long. But Raffe is determined to not let it sway him and what he needs to do to save not only his people from a war but also what remains of earth. Beliel is not captured and while he is close to dying he tricks Penryn into summoning some help from the hellions in hell and little does he know it will serve a greater purpose later in the story. I know the question on everybody’s mind…. Did Raffe get his wing back? Well I guess you will have to read the book to find out right? I simply loved Raffe in this book also it was great to understand a little bit more about why he acts and does most of the stuff that he was doing in book 1. I loved the ending of the book, a bit sad the way it all went down but still it was awesome. I had to read it a few times as I enjoyed it soo much.
