With the help of her best friends Kylie and Miranda, she’ll try to prove herself in the paranormal world as an investigator—all the while trying to figure out her own heart. Should she choose Chase, a powerful vampire with whom she shares a special bond? Or Steve, the hot shapeshifter whose kisses make her weak in the knees? When a person with a dark connection to her past shows up, it’ll help her decide which guy to choose–and make her question everything she knows about herself.

The Review

We pick up from the end of book 1, Della has been bonded to Chase but she doesn’t even understand what this means. And more importantly where was Chase?
As Della discovers, she seems to be attracting ghosts which is not all that it is cracked up to be. When she gets a visit from a ghost to help some newly turned vampires,  Della can’t help how drawn she is to the case. But she knows that if she is going to solve this case she will need Chase, even if she can’t seem to stand him… or is she just lying to herself? Della also uncovers some hidden secrets about her father’s family that will leave her questioning everything she has known about her father.

What did I like? Well, I thought book 1 was annoying but this one made me want to just slap Della in the face. I liked the story in this book better than the first, and how it led Della to discover the hidden truths about her father’s family. Also, I had put 4 and 5 together and worked out the story before Della could, makes me wonder what kind of agent she will be.
And also she gave Chase a lot of hell about secrets when she was also keeping a load to herself. Della was driving me nuts with her trying to act tough when she just wanted to cry, and her “woe is me” attitude most times was just not needed. Her friends were fun but Miranda was the most infuriating of them all.
I really liked Natasha and Liam I hope we might see more of them in the future. A cliffhanger end to this book that I am super desperate to find out how the series will end! Roll on book 3 then.
