Determined to overcome a difficult past, Erica Hathaway learns early on how to make it on her own. Days after her college graduation she finds herself face to face with a panel of investors who will make or break her fledgling startup. The only thing she didn’t prepare for was going weak in the knees over an arrogant and gorgeous investor who’s seemingly determined to derail her presentation.
Billionaire and rumored hacker Blake Landon has already made his fortune in software, and he’s used to getting what he wants with very little resistance. Captivated by Erica’s drive and unassuming beauty, he’s wanted nothing more since she stepped into his boardroom. Determined to win her over, he breaks down her defenses and fights for her trust, even if that means sacrificing a level of control he’s grown accustomed to.
But when Blake uncovers a dark secret from Erica’s past, he threatens not just her trust, but the life she’s fought so hard to create.
I was told this is for fans of the Fifty Shades series and thought the whole concept has been way too overdone but let me see what this has to offer. The story is about Erica, she just graduated and has a n internet startup in partnership with some of her coursemates and now she is looking for investors to take her startup to the next level. She then meets Blake Landon a billionaire with a history who makes her go weak in the knees. Erica is not really interested in the beginning but Blake then tries to win her over but also Erica has a secret from her past that she wants to just forget about. As Blake slowly breaks her defenses down will Erica trust him enough with all of herself.
So this was the typical story along the lines of fifty shades of grey but this one was without the whinny inexperienced love interest. I like this one as it was easy to read, there wasn’t too much back and forthing with the unnecessary chit chat. The book was super steamy though and most of it tasteful no weird stuff but lets be realistic I don’t think regular folk get that much action in one night so I found that a bit unrealistic. Blake’s brother in the story was totally unnecessary although I get that they had to focus on other characters if not the story would be a bit dull with just 2 characters.
I enjoyed the flow of the story and to be honest I am keen to see where things go with Blake and Erica and how this hacker series unfolds.
One for the readers who what something steamy.
