Life has been crazy since Tessa McCaide moved to Texas. She’s gone from being a normal-ish girl with visions to a super-powered werewolf. She’s fought off vampires and broken a nearly unbreakable curse. And she’s got a hot mate, Dastien Laurent, to keep her busy.
Things are looking up until the full moon ceremony rolls around. Before Tessa can strengthen her bond with Dastien, the local coven crashes the gates, demanding that Tessa—their heir apparent—be returned. If the pack wants to avoid a war with the witches, handing Tessa over is the only option.
Tessa doesn’t want to cause an all-out fight, but joining a dark-magic coven isn’t on her to-do list, especially if embracing her magic side means parting with Dastien. When the coven leader tries to control Tessa with dark-magic, Tessa realizes she has to dismantle the coven or prepare the pack for war. Either choice will change her life—and her world—forever.
The story just keeps getting better and better. I must confess I have never been so engrossed and sold to a series. This is book 3 and I have not lost a single bit of interest in-fact I was greatly saddened when it ended, and now I actually have to wait for the next part which is only out in May.
We pick up from the end of book 2 after all the madness with breaking Meredith free from the curse, and for a time it seems that everything will eventually turn out ok. The full moon ceremony is just around the corner and with the tribunal looming they are eager to get it all done. And when Tessa shares this information with her Bruja cousin’s she realizes that she has made a mistake as she can’t help but feel that the witches plan to interfere.
On the night of the full moon ceremony, they are interrupted and Luciana and the La Aquelarre witches threatening war if they do not move the full moon ceremony to the following month . Tessa finally caves into their demands and that’s when it all starts to get really interesting. After the tribunal Luciana still demands that Tessa moves to live in La Aquelarre to learn the ways of the Bruja, and although Dastien is refusing to let it happen Tessa doesn’t know any other way to go about it without it bringing about a full on war between the witches and wolves. Against Dastien’s wishes Tessa agrees to stay in La Aquelarre for 1 lunar cycle to learn more about what Luciana is planning. Will Tessa be able to find before it’s too late?
This book was not as eventful as the last 2 books but it still kept me entertained, the story really was focused on the Bruja’s and Tessa getting to know this side of the family. Tessa annoyed me a little in this book and I also felt a lot of information was repetitive, I know the author was just reminding me about the previous books but it got a bit tiring after a while.
Can’t wait for the next book although I am sure it will most be focused on the Bruja and Claudia’s journey.
