Seventeen-year-old Tessa McCaide has come a long way since her abrupt entrance into the world of werewolves, but she still has just as far to go before she’s comfortable with turning full wolf. In the meantime, she’s avoiding the topic of shifting to four legs any way she can. Thankfully her mate, Dastien Laurent, is quite the distraction.
When she finds her best friend, Meredith, getting sick in the bathroom, Tessa knows something’s majorly wrong. Meredith was cursed years ago, and the dark magic kept her wolf dormant—only now the wolf is awake, and that same spell is killing her.
Tessa has no intention of sitting around while Meredith wastes away. Even if it means playing with magic she doesn’t understand, she’ll do anything to save Meredith’s life. Including bargaining with the local coven of witches and its crazed leader, whose only goal is getting Tessa to join the witchy ranks.
Can Tessa save her friend without losing herself?
This is book two in the Alpha girl series, and if you though book 1 was good then book 2 will so totally blow you away.
We pick up where book 1 left off, Tess and Dastien as working on their relationship as they get to know one another as they also prepare for the upcoming full moon and tribunal. Tessa seems very on edge about giving into her wolf form because she feels she will loose her humanity.
The story takes another turn when Meredith her suite mate who was cursed by Luciana leader of the coven starts getting sick, and we know werewolves don’t ever get sick. The curse was to keep Merediths wolf dormant and now the wolf has woken up and the same curse is killing her. It seems the only way to help Meredith survive in the next 24 hours is by breaking the curse or she will die.
For the last few years since Luciana took over the coven the Bruja’s have not gotten along with the werewolves so this makes things very complicated. Will Tessa be able to convince Luciana to break the curse and save her friend?
Tessa together with Dastien and her new Were friends must work together to find a way to save Meredith before she runs out of time, even if it means doing a spell she does not fully understand.
The author did a fabulous job of keeping me entertained throughout the story, most of it was predictable but it still left a nice lingering feeling throughout the story.
The story flowed so nicely that I just couldn’t help myself, I finished the book in one day and now I am eager to read the next book in the journey of the Alpha girl.
