One stupid party. One stupid boy. One stupid kiss. And my life was virtually over.
Tessa McCaide has a unique talent for getting into trouble. Then again, it isn’t easy for a girl with visions to ignore what she sees. Luckily Tessa and her family are leaving California and moving halfway across the country, giving her the perfect opportunity to leave her reputation as “Freaky Tessa” behind.
But Tessa doesn’t realize that kissing the wrong guy in her new Texas town could land her in far more trouble than she ever imagined. Like being forced to attend St. Ailbe’s Academy, a secret boarding school for werewolves.
Even if the wrong guy did accidentally turn her into one of “them” and doom her to attending the weirdest high school ever, Tessa can’t help her growing attraction to the mysterious Dastien Laurent.
When vampires attack St. Alibe’s and her visions pinpoint an enemy in their midst, Tessa realises that boy drama and her newfound canine tendencies might just be the least of her problems.
Before I delve into the nitty-gritty, one word to describe this book is “AMAZING”.
I love reading YA books and this one is a book I would recommend to YA fans out there.
This is a story about Tessa, she seems like a normal girl but she is not. She has always felt like the outcast and freak of nature because she had the ability of sight. Once she touches anything she can feel the emotions of the last person that touched that very same place. Because of this she has struggled with school and so her parents decide to move from LA to Texas so she can start a fresh. One night she and her brother are messing with some of their fathers files and when she touches it something different happens which she just can’t seem to understand.
She then meets Dastien, the hottie with a bod. Honestly I want a Dastien of my own from now on
One night after a party she meets Dastien who she dangerously drawn to and when they kiss he loses some control being a werewolf and all and he bit her.
What follows changes the course of Tessa’s life with some new choices before her and she must make the right ones while she is adjusting to the changes. So many secrets are then brought up to the surface. Will Tessa embrace her new path without a fight? or will she follow the path of her mothers family as a Bruja (witch).
There were soo many aspects to this story and I am trying desperately not to give away. The book flowed so nicely that I can’t remember a time when I just couldn’t tear myself away from a book I had started. I loved every single moment of it, I just couldn’t stop myself. The book made me smile, laugh and equally wish I could experience a love that flowed through the story. The authors story telling is so good that you are drawn into the world of Tessa and the Werewolves.
If you are a fan of Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver series then you will absolutely fall in love with this series. Can’t wait to get into book 2.
